The remarkable astromaterial samples presented here were collected from the Moon during the six Apollo surface missions between 1969 and 1972. On the Apollo missions, twelve astronauts explored the lunar landscape collecting 382 kilograms of lunar rocks, core samples, pebbles, sand and dust
from the Moon. Rocks record the geologic and cosmochemical evidence of the materials and processes that created them. Geologists will often say that "the story is in the rock." Rocks, then, hold the wonder of the formation of our cosmos within them. We invite you to explore these rocks and stories for yourself…
