Exploration Enabling research supports the design, development, and testing of human spaceflight technologies and activities.
The Exploration Enabling group supports the testing of technologies developed for planetary exploration with analog materials (i.e., simulants), the design and development of planetary simulant testbeds, and the physical characterization of planetary simulants (Lunar, Martian) via geotechnical and analytical instrumentation. Additionally, the group provides consultation to those that are interested in incorporating planetary simulants in their experiments.
