Biography
Timothy Hahn Jr. is a Research Scientist with Jacobs on the JETS contract supporting NanoSIMS research at Johnson Space Center. The primary focus of Timothy's research is understanding the petrogenesis of achondrites, the origin and distribution of volatiles in the early Solar System, and the accretion of the terrestrial planets. To accomplish these research objectives, Timothy uses a variety of analytical instruments; however, his expertise is using the NanoSIMS to measure the isotopic composition of meteorite samples. In his work as a research scientist, Timothy provides analytical services for internal and external NanoSIMS users, as well as performs routine and preventative maintenance of the NanoSIMS 50L at Johnson Space Center. Additionally, Timothy works to develop novel analytical methods and sample preparation protocols for the analysis and preparation of extraterrestrial materials. Finally, Timothy serves as the contract laboratory manager for the NanoSIMS 50L and the Microsample Handling Cleanroom.
