Biography

Joseph Hamilton is the Artemis Operations Lead and the Chief Technologist for the Astromaterials Research and Exploration Science (ARES) Division at the Johnson Space Center. He is also one of the leaders of the ARES mission concept team. Before coming to Johnson, Hamilton was an officer and pilot in the United States Air Force. His experience at Johnson includes Flight Crew Operations, Mission Operations, Space and Life Sciences, Engineering, Exploration Mission Planning, the Space Shuttle Program Office, the Space Crew Survival Integrated Investigation Team and was a concept exploration manager. Hamilton was the radar measurements lead in the Orbital Debris Program Office for six years where he served as a delegate to the Inter-Agency Space Debris Coordination Committee.
