Planetary Formation and Evolution

The terrestrial planets, including Earth's Moon, some asteroids, and the rocky satellites of the outer planets, are the products of differentiation and evolution from their early primordial states. These processes include core formation, development of planetary mantles, and subsequent generation of planetary magmas. We study these processes with a range of experimental and analytical facilities. Use the buttons to the left for more information and to view the labs and research teams engaged in this type of work.
