Research/Engineering Interests

Dr. Mittlefehldt has authored/co-authored over 90 peer-reviewed scientific articles, 5 book chapters, 223 scientific abstracts, 14 encyclopedia articles, and 5 invited articles on meteorites and planetary science for general audiences. He is a member of the Geochemical Society, the Meteoritical Society (elected Fellow, 1996), and the American Geophysical Union.

Dr. Mittlefehldt is an expert in meteorite petrology and geochemistry. He is the manager of the JSC ICP-MS laboratory, and is responsible for general managerial and scientific oversight of the research program.
