Dr. Roy Christoffersen is a FE-STEM Facility Manager for ESCG at the NASA Johnson Space Center. He has more than twelve years of research experience in space and planetary science encompassing early solar system and lunar surface materials and processes. Investigations have included both direct electron microscope characterization and experimental investigation of the solid-state effects of space plasma ions on lunar surface materials and primitive grains in interplanetary dust particles (IDPs).
Dr. Christoffersen has more than nine years experience in NASA technical management within the International Space Station (ISS) Program. Responsibilities included integration and management of microgravity science requirements into ISS capabilities, and principal investigator/payload developer feedback on ISS research integration. Experience includes SAIC Project Management Courses I & II, Introductory and Advanced Concepts of Project Management.
Also, Dr. Christoffersen has more than twenty-seven years experience in application of all aspects of transmission electron microscopy to solid state processes in earth, space and materials science.
