Mission Statement: The Human Exploration Science Office provides support for human spaceflight and conducts world-class research and technology development in the areas of space orbital debris, hypervelocity impact technology, image science and analysis, crew earth observations, and human and robotic exploration science.
Provides support for human spaceflight and conducts world-class research and technology development
Provides leadership in orbital debris research, including the development of national and international space policy on orbital debris
Provides evaluation of the risks to spacecraft posed by micro-meteoroid and orbital debris impacts
Earth imagery acquired by astronauts are catalogued and made available to the public through a web-based access site
Performs engineering image analysis in support of the International Space Station, the Hubble Space Telescope, various Commercial Space efforts and other NASA programs.
Support the operation of Mars robotic missions and contribute to the interpretation of data returned from these voyages
