Research/Engineering Interests

Dr. Bradley De Gregorio is a curator and cosmochemist at Johnson Space Center (JSC). He is mainly involved in the curation of cometary and interstellar dust samples returned by the NASA Stardust mission to comet 81P/Wild 2. He is also involved in curation of NASA's portion of asteroidal samples returned by the Japanese Hayabusa Mission to asteroid Itokawa. His research interests focus on the origin, modification, and fate of carbonaceous matter in various planetary materials, through correlated analyses of its nanostructure, organic functional chemistry, and isotopic composition. His other interests include assessing the biogenicity of Archean microbial fossils and other ancient carbonaceous matter, and beam damage effects of polymers and other carbonaceous samples.
